Aao seth, kem che? Majja maa?

…….Mahendra seth with a broad smiling face……… The owner of “Rajeshwari” - tea center, exactly opposite to the B.S.N.L’s Telephone exchange on Bajirao Road.

Rajeshwari is just another ordinary joint where people drop in to sip the sweet decoction. The only thing that elates this place is Mahendra seth’s approach towards his customers.

I’ve shifted away; still we all make it a point to visit Rajeshwari. We just get dragged to the taste of his masala chai. Usually we drop in at Rajeshwari by 0520 hours; the chai is not yet ready. Pandu (helper) is busy chopping onions for “poha”

It seems we’ll have to wait for the tea……

“Seth baitho! Chai bann-neka hain, aapko hamari taraf se kesar ukkala pilata hain”

Grabs his measuring glass, dips it in the milk. Makes arrangements to add one more “patella” on his stove, adds some “elaichi wala masala”. These all movements are so rapid, that it takes him 2 – 4 minutes to pour the kesar ukkala (with a pinch of kesar on top) in our “pyalli”.

Kesar ukkala is a delicacy that we savour once or twice in a month. Whenever the chai is not ready, Mahendra Seth offers us the ukkala. Every time the ukkala is on the house.

Mahendra seth’s got his own funda – “ Aadmi jitna aacha hota hain, utni uske haath se bani chai meethi hoti hain”

Right now sipping on the green tea, I lack the tang of the kesar ukkala and masala chai!

The following song keeps on playing back to back in my MP3 player continuously these days. I love this song for some strange reason. It has been penned down by Kavi Grace and sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Its the flavour of the month for me. At times the kind of music one chooses determines the mood of the listener or rather elevates it. All I know is this song pulls some chords in my heart!! Call it some strange Music Therapy.......

Bhay ithle sampat nahi..." (kavi grace)

Nashik Darshan

04 August 2009 वेळ: Tuesday, August 04, 2009

Dwarka is the most chaotic circle in nashik, as the Mumbai-Agra meets the Pune-Nashik highway. There's a street from the Dwarka Circle that goes down towards the "Dudh Bazar". A few days back when I was visiting nashik, a rikshawalah had informed me about the famous restaurants.

There are a few good restaurants where you get tasty food, cooked in Islamic style. Kokni-step-brothers own 2 famous restaurant's in this area - Hajji Darbar and the Kokni Darbar. Al-Khatib is located exactly opposite to the Kokni Darbar. Al-Khatib was my choice (just for the reason - he serves beef)

After consuming a plate of beef kheema and beef masala with a bunch of naan's, we relished the Rasgulla's and jalebi's at "New Bombay Sweets".

Finally after the "pet pooja" we managed to find out the way to Panchavati. Fortunately it was raining that day. I ended up buying a "Plastic Ghongdi". Under the plastic ghongdi, it was easy to click around!

Girl Band Practising Dhol- Tashe For festivities.
This photo was taken by me after doing a lot of catastrophic stunts by jumping on a Parafit of the building against the temple and by the bridge. I guess the end result speaks volumes for itself...
